Senior Quant Researcher / Analyst (Macro/Fundamentals)

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Quant Researcher to join our dynamic team in Stockholm for our AI-driven hedge fund start-up. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and building our quantitative macro/fundamentals department. The candidate will be team oriented and work closely with traders and researchers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain macroeconomic and fundamental trading strategies, leveraging expertise in market dynamics, economic indicators, and news analysis.
  • Manage and improve our market analysis engine, ensuring adaptability to various data sources and maintaining accuracy in fundamental data feeds.
  • Assess and analyze the performance of our portfolio through a macroeconomic lens to meet hedging needs and align with strategic goals.
  • Collaborate closely with traders and fellow developers to identify and prioritize new approaches, utilizing macroeconomic insights, sentiment and news-driven strategies to generate alpha in the financial markets.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in macroeconomic, fundamental, or news-based trading and analysis, encompassing both practical and theoretical aspects.
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in disciplines such as economics, finance, statistics, computer science, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated excellence in academic achievements and a proven track record in financial trading or a competitive activity with strategic elements, such as poker or strategic games.
  • Strong analytical and programming skills, with a focus on understanding macroeconomic trends, fundamentals, and news-driven market dynamics.
  • Proficiency in C# or Python is required. Familiarity with machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch is considered an advantage.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling and analysis tools, and experience in utilizing news and macroeconomic indicators for trading decisions.
  • Excellent communication (English) and teamwork skills. Ability to maintain focus under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
